In this talk, art educator and author Ben Street will show us how to rediscover the fundamental pleasure of viewing art. Using examples from his new book, How to Enjoy Art: A Guide for Everyone, he will look at works by artists including Fra Angelico, Berthe Morisot, Kazuo Shiraga and Kara Walker and present a handful of basic strategies and skills that will enhance our experience of viewing art works.

Using this approach with any work of art – regardless of media, artist or period – we can all find enjoyment, understanding and resonance with our own experiences.

How to Enjoy Art: A Guide for Everyone by Ben Street is published by Yale University Press. Ticket holders will receive a code to use online for 25% off the retail price (UK orders only, free P&P).

Proceeds from our ticket sales benefit museums, galleries and other arts-based organisations and projects.

This is an online event hosted on Zoom which can be watched live, or on-demand for three weeks afterwards. You will receive your link to access the event in your email confirmation and the on-demand link after the event ends.
