Fabergé, Cigarette Case, 1908. Royal Collection Trust / © Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 2021.

Caroline de Guitaut is Deputy Surveyor of the Queen’s Works of Art at the Royal Collection Trust and is writing the upcoming catalogue raisonné of Fabergé in the Collection of Her Majesty the Queen. This talk is intended to complement the Victoria and Albert Museum’s autumn exhibition, Fabergé in London: Romance to Revolution, which will explore master goldsmith Carl Fabergé whose internationally recognised firm symbolised Russian craftsmanship, luxury and elegance.  It will focus on some of the remarkable decorative art objects on loan to the exhibition from the Royal Collection and the Russian State Museums, as well as discussing the Anglo-Russian relationship, in particular that between the British and Russian royal families.

This event has been organised together with Hermitage Foundation UK.

Proceeds from our ticket sales benefit museums, galleries and other arts-based organisations and projects.
