Previously a royal and aristocratic haunt, Chelsea is no less exclusive now. This virtual tour, with Blue Badge guide Katie Wignall, uses high definition video, images, google street view and live commentary to look at how Chelsea's development shaped its history, and to meet the genteel neighbours and more eccentric locals with a focus on artistic and literary figures including Oscar Wilde, John Singer Sargent and Rex Whistler.
One of the prettiest London neighbourhoods, we will admire gorgeous architecture, stroll down the Kings Road and the Thames Embankment, pay a visit to Carlyle’s House, the Chelsea Physic Garden and Royal Chelsea Hospital. As well as these better-known locations we will also visit some unusual sites like a secret burial ground and a Tudor Palace.
Proceeds from our ticket sales benefit museums, galleries and other arts-based organisations and projects.
